WORTHING will be one of the first places in the UK to welcome in 2018.

Dan Flanagan is organising a huge intergenerational rave for 1,000 people, which will celebrate midnight at 6pm.

This follows the sell-out success of last year’s event which saw a 97-year-old DJ and a Wurlitzer organ play a mash-up of David Bowie and Star Wars songs.

Now organisers TotRockinBeats are back to make sure everyone gets a chance to see in this new year in with a bang.

The event takes over three rooms in the Assembly Hall, Stoke Abbott Road, Worthing, between 4pm and 7pm.

Four DJs will be blasting out floor fillers from the 1980s and 1990s, a circus, Lego and games room, soft play and interactive visuals,

There will also be a gelato bike, pie and mash, children’s entertainers, parachute games, breakdancers, a licensed bar and a mass singalong along at midnight – 6pm.

One room will be playing music from the 1940s, 1950s and 1960.

The concept was created by journalist, part-time revolutionary and father of one, Dan. He said: “We believe that age shouldn’t be a barrier to having a good time so we make sure everyone, as long as they come with a positive attitude, is warmly welcome.”

Tickets are £15 for adults, £10 for children and £6 for for OAPs with babies free of charge. Go to www.dontbelievethehype.biz or Worthingtheatres.co.uk or call 01903 206 206 for more.
