A CHARITY which runs regular activities and events for children has been given a boost from The Argus Appeal.
The Argus Appeal is chaired by Dawn Sweeney, managing director of The Argus. There are eight trustees - four senior members of The Argus daily newspaper and four external trustees from the local business community. Our Patron is Nicholas Owen, the TV broadcaster.
The Argus Appeal has an enormous role to play in our community because it supports such a wide range of causes and can act swiftly to help individuals, families, groups and other charities. Having organised many of our own charity events over the years we know how difficult fundraising can be and we value every one of our supporters and appreciate their efforts.
Nicholas Owen, a longstanding supporter of The Argus Appeal, became Patron in January 2007.
He said: “I have been involved with The Argus Appeal for several years now and have always been an enormous admirer of what it does.
"For the people it helps the appeal is absolutely vital so it gives me fantastic pleasure to be patron. I feel very honoured.”
The Argus Appeal's Objectives:
Every Penny Helps

The Argus Appeal is our charity which has been working at the heart of our community for almost 55 years.
We pride ourselves on having supporters who trust the integrity of our work, the honesty with which we tell our stories and the decisions we make when allocating funds.
