THREE FANTASTIC CYCLE EVENTS FOR 2014!
Forget those winter blues........what a fantastic opportunity to set yourself a fitness target for 2014 and why not make 2014 a year to remember by taking part in The South Downs Way Challenge and cycle the glorious South Downs Way through Sussex and Hampshire.
Or if you you only have a day to spare, take part in our ONE day South Downs Devil and try you luck cycling up some of the steepest hills in Sussex between Brighton & Beachy Head. The ride is fully supported and we will even give you a lift back to Brighton with your bike (if required).
However, if Off-road riding is not your bag and you fancy some European culture, join us on our Dunkirk to Brussels Challenge and experience cycing in one of the most cycle friendly countries in Europe and join us for our very first Dunkirk to Brussels Challenge visiting Ypres, Bruges, Ghent and Brussels.
All our rides carry a complete package to keep you on track and include transportation to get you on your way and bring you home safely and all are fully supported by our fantastic experienced cycle volunteers.
And whats more......EVERY PENNY you raise through sponsorship goes directly to those in need in Sussex, because an Argus Appeal Cycle Challenge is a 100% charity bike ride - unlike some of the others.
But don't just take our word for it, this is what you said last year: 'WOW', what a fantastic experience and stunning weekend of cycling. Can you say thanks to all the volunteers who looked after us every step of the way...I will definitely be back for more next year! (Garry H, Burgess Hill)

TAKE part in our cycling adventure of a lifetime - starting in Dunkirk and cycling into the heart of Brussels by bicycle.
2014 is a very special anniversary of one of the most traumatic conflicts the world has ever witnessed and one hundred years since the outbreak of the First World War.
Spend some time cycling through the atmospheric memorials dedicated to those that bravely gave their lives and explore the magnificent cities of Bruges, Ghent and Brussels, where the evenings promise to be just as exciting as the days cycling!
All the riding will be via Belgiums impressive traffic free cycling ‘nodes’ (Knooppunten) system, whereby every route intersects another. Follow in the footsteps of some of the worlds greatest cyclists who have ridden the ‘cobblestones’ during the world famous Belgium ‘classics’.
Each node in the network is numbered and the route carefully chosen by the Argus Appeal team who will be on hand to fully support each rider to our usual high standards.
DAY 1: JULY 30TH, 2014:
Coach from Brighton to Dover, arriving in Dunkirk via ferry early Wednesday afternoon and cycle to a hotel in Ypres (20 miles).
DAY 2: JULY 31ST, 2014:
After breakfast, cycle on some quiet country roads via the ‘war graves’ that serve as memorials to those that died in the First World war until we reach the centre of the magnificent city of Bruges (50 miles).
DAY 3: AUGUST 1ST, 2014:
A 50 mile cycle to the impressive city of Ghent (the city by the water), which architecturally is just as imposing as Bruges.
DAY 4: AUGUST 2ND, 2014:
Today we cycle to our last destination of our short Belgium break and make our way into the north-west area of Brussels and spend our last evening discovering the delights of what this city has to offer.
DAY 5: AUGUST 3RD, 2014:
Return home via Eurostar, after spending the morning in Brussels and coach back to Brighton.
The ride is fully supported by an experienced team of volunteers. All accommodation is included, as is transportation of yourself, luggage and bikes. All breakfasts (apart from ferry) are included as are two evening meals.
This ride has a limited number of 49 places - so please book early to avoid disappointment!
