Sometimes I just wish following Lewes FC was not so eventful.

It hardly seemed like the wheels had stopped turning from Barrow as we once again set off on our travels. Northamptonshire awaited us and a visit to Nene Park, home of Rushden and Diamonds. Following lengthy discussions the opted route was the M25 to Dartford then beyond. On reaching the beloved tunnel, I had to dig deep to find the extra now the crossing tolls have gone up! I think I have paid for half that bridge!

A disappointing result, as Albion suffered another home defeat in front of a healthy crowd.

Dear oh dear, oh dear. There’s a chap who writes a column in the Guardian who really seems to dislike homeopaths. That’s fine – he’s entitled to his opinion, of course (though I do wonder at a national newspaper condoning his repeated little digs). This week, he writes about having a cold, and says “I have a cold...throughout the nation, homeopaths and self-declared nutritional therapists are celebrating”, presumably thinking that, just because he repeatedly mocks homeopathy and nutritional therapy, therapists like me will be happy he’s suffering.

Albion’s cup dream ended with an unlucky defeat to Hartlepool in front of an attendance of 3288.

The visit of Woking was a milestone to a few of us .... last weekend saw the stewards at Borough don their new coats and clip the all singing new radios to our jackets.

One week after my last blog, we are no nearer to solving the insecurity at the club.

This was a useless performance from Brighton with not many positives to be taken from the game. Manager Micky Adams apologised for the performance. Attendance was 5333 Brighton started the better side with Murray, Anyinsah and Fleetwood all coming close. On 31 minutes, against the run of play, Carlisle scored with a shot from outside the box that was parried by Kuipers into the path of Bridge-Wilkinson who slotted home.

I’m getting rather concerned about the number of women who are telling me that, during gynaecological investigations, their doctors fitted them with a Mirena IUD, saying “now you’re here, you might as well have this fitted”. It worries me, because although the Mirena IUD may well suit many women, there are forums online that run to 135 pages, full of postings from women who blame the Mirena IUD for a whole raft of horrible side-effects, such as hair loss, acne, mood swings and prolonged bleeding.

Albion progressed into the area semi finals with a convincing display.

Well once again the excitement of FA Cup first round fell over Eastbourne and we at the Lane prepared to welcome fellow Blue Square Premier newcomers, AFC Barrow for their first visit to the Sussex coast.

This game was a classic cup tie but not the result Albion wanted in front of a poor crowd of just 2,545.

I couldn't think of a more appropriate title for this week’s blog. Things at Lewes FC are certainly never boring, and this week has done nothing to dispel that belief. A statement from the board last week made fans realise exactly the situation our club is in and it's certainly worse than we thought.

I realised recently that I’m turning into my mother. My mum has strong opinions about certain things, and as a teenager I remember cringing with embarrassment and shame when she decided to take a stand about something in public. And now I speak out, too.

With the sun blazing down in Cheshire, a bottom of the table battle was on the cards in Northwich.

Some dodgy officials and clinical finishing sent Albion out of the Carling Cup.
