A UNIQUE ‘pool to pier’ swimming programme is offering a young person the first ever opportunity to become an apprentice Open Water guide.
The apprentice will be trained as a teacher, a pool and a beach lifeguard and take the Pool to Pier specialised swimming guide course - while earning a full time regular wage.
The apprentices will learn all aspects of teaching people to swim in the sea along with business administration, customer care and ICT and will help with sea swimming trips.
Paul Smith, who started the award winning Pool to Pier programme five years ago, said: “Open water swimming is now one the fastest growing sports in the UK."
