A COMMUNITY park officially opened after a £70,000 funding boost.
The Big Parks Project skatepark opened in Peacehaven on land donated by Southern Water with the help of Lewes District Council, Peacehaven Town Council, East Sussex County Council and Peacehaven Community School.
Chris Bibb, Lewes District Council’s Big Parks project officer, said: “We are extremely pleased with the skatepark’s design and construction – it really is the best new one in the South East.
“It is already being well used by the community and is a great improvement on the tired equipment that existed before.
“It is a park for Peacehaven to be proud of.”
