NEW club owners have pledged to make Patterns “the best sounding venue in Brighton and the UK”.

Formerly known as Audio and currently closed for a major refurbishment, Patterns has also announced a raft of names for its May launch including Gilles Peterson. Local promoters will join lauded international club brands such as BUGGEDOut! at the Marine Parade club.

Patterns will open on Thursday, May 14, and will act host to The Great Escape Festival after-parties.

Brighton’s own SpectraSoul will launch new album ‘The Mistress’ at the club on Friday, May 22, while London favourites Tief will be play on Saturday.

Worldwide selector and BBC 6 Music DJ Gilles Peterson will also take crowds on a “spiritual journey” through jazz, funk, soul and house at the venue.

There will also be live show from US reggae rapper Matisyahu, followed by house heavyweight Deetron and bass hero Artwork courtesy of BUGGEDOut! The basement will be a “heads down no frills club space”, with a mission to ensure the sonic experience is second to none.

A spokesman for the Mothership Group said: “Our intention is to make Patterns the best sounding venue in Brighton, and the UK.

“Having tested two of the world’s leading systems head-to-head in the space, we have decided to go with an L’Acoustics sound system that is simply impeccable.

“C3 Productions & L’Acoustics have custom selected all the components and will be working on this project together to make our venue Brighton’s finest.

“Keeping the ethos of high quality sound for our Live music shows, a new Midas 32 channel desk and green room with shower facilities have been fitted making Patterns a leading live music venue for touring bands.

“Whilst up on the ground floor a hand built DJ booth designed by Bad Habits will be powered by a bespoke Ohm PA installed by Brighton based Penguin Media Solutions.”
