MORE than 30,000 visitors went to Foodies Festival at Hove Lawns over the Bank Holiday weekend.

They enjoyed cookery demonstrations from chefs Douglas McMaster of Silo, Josh Stanzl from Brighton i360, MasterChef winner Ping Coombes and Great British Bake Off winner John Whaite.

Food and drink master classes in the Tasting Theatre, Cake and Bake Theatre and Drinks Theatre, offered festival-goers the opportunity to discover new flavours and learn new skills with urban bee keeping, wine and champagne tasting and chocolate making classes in high demand.

Local bands Frankie Furlow, Half Crown and Seeker kept the crowds well entertained with live music from the Brighton Unsigned Entertainment Stage throughout the three-day event. 

Festival director Sue Hitchen said: "We always look forward to coming to Brighton and we couldn’t have asked for a better start to our 10th anniversary celebrations. We're looking forward to returning next year."

Foodies Festival continues it’s 10th Anniversary tour in Birmingham, London, Cheshire, Bristol, Edinburgh, Harrogate and Oxford.
