BRIGHTON Marina is staging a huge celebration evening tonight (Friday) to celebrate the newly-extended Boardwalk and the opening of six new restaurants.

DJ Gok Wan - best known as fashion expert, award-winning TV presenter and author - will be the star attraction of the evening.

The expansion is seen as a major coup for the Marina, and the six new restaurants are Casa Brasil, Las Iguanas, Five Guys, MOD Pizza, Bella Italia and Gourmet Burger Kitchen.

Sophie Chandler, Retail Liaison and Marketing Manager, said it is exciting times for Brighton Marina.

She said: "We are absolutely thrilled that we continue to expand and further enhance the mixed offer here at the Marina.

"It is such positive news for the city.

"To be opening six new restaurants shows massive confidence in our local economy, and we are always looking at how we can further improve the complex.

"We are hoping for a bumper crowd. Entry is free - as of course is the parking - the weather is set fair and it is going to be a cracking evening.

"We have lined up an evening for the family which we think we will be a truly memorable one. Entertainment, fireworks and Gok Wan."

The family fun and entertainment starts from 6pm.

There will be balloon modelling stilt walkers, Anton the Circus Juggler and Tim the Jester on the boardwalk. Junk and drum percussion group Clatterati will be showcasing their unique style outside The West Quay Weatherspoons.

The spectacular fireworks display set to music starts at 8.30pm followed by the celebrity stylist turned DJ Gok Wan, to take us late into the night.

Some of the restaurants will also be doing special offers.

Gok said: "I am really looking forward to spinning the decks at Brighton Marina to celebrate the launch of the new boardwalk.

"I’ll be playing some of my favourite House and Pop remixes with some old skool tunes thrown in for good measure."
