What work-related worries keep you awake at night?

Switching off has never been one of my strengths. No one specific thing keeps me awake, just whatever is going on at that time and right now there is a lot of exciting stuff going on.

I am looking forward to a life of Zen in the future.

What’s the first thing you do when you arrive at your office and get to your desk?

After starting the day by checking out what Donald Trump has been up to overnight, I make my way to the office.

I don’t have a fixed desk at work, working from one of our co-working spaces.

A good cup of coffee and a chat with the members and my team is a great way to start the day.

Do you lunch in or out of the office?

I love lunch and would always choose to leave the office, to eat and take time out. Our office is situated in North Laine so a brilliant place to eat and browse the shops.

Although, I do confess to having the odd prawn sandwich at my desk…

What’s the proudest you have been with a recent piece of work?

Along with opening our first space in North Road and hosting our first social last week, I’ve been really proud of a few key projects that my team have led.

We switched online management systems recently and it could have been a challenging time but thanks to Olga and Emilie it’s gone amazingly well.

It’s already making a big difference to the business. Sounds mundane but so important.

Where do you network?

At the coffee machine with our members. My learning (not always business) and the connections I am making starts here.

I also attend Brighton and Hove Chamber of Commerce and Wired Sussex events, among many others.

How do you exercise?

I discovered CrossFit just over a year ago and it’s changed my whole approach to life.

My fitness levels have improved enormously and they needed to.

Who knew working out in a big warehouse in Shoreham Harbour could be so much fun?

I run a lot and I play tennis regularly

I also like walking with Margot our dog on the Downs and she likes it even more.

What qualities do you look for when looking to hire a new recruit?

Different skills and attributes to mine so we can build a team that is more than the sum of its parts.

Ambition, loyalty and being personable are all important attributes.

What is the best thing about business in Brighton and Hove?

That we are part of something truly greater. The community here is very important.

Business should interact with culture, food, education and outdoor life – this is what makes Brighton really tick.

We just need more of it, business I mean, so more of those who live here can work and grow here.

What one thing would improve the quality of your working life?

I’ve already made the big decision to work (very) close to home by launching my business in Brighton and not travelling to London.

It’s meant I can be with my family far more and I don’t have to do the commute.

Next stage is to make it a big success so it’s all worth it.

If you could have your absolute dream job what would it be?

I’m happy enough to be working close to home in a place I love.
