A BUSINESS improvement specialist is launching a six-week course for new companies – in a Brighton tea room.

Richard Ede is hoping The Startup clinic next month at Metrodeco in Upper St James Street will be a big success.

The focus is to show people how to use six cloud-based tools to make their business a success.

Richard has selected one tool for each business development phase to make the most of the many advantages that come with cloud computing.

He said: “I’ve put hundreds of hours and experience into this and I think the course will be very popular

“I want to share my knowledge to help other entrepreneurs and I’ve chosen Metrodeco as a venue because it has such character.

“I wanted to choose an inspiring venue where people want to come and I couldn’t have chosen anywhere better.”

There are six sessions, each lasting two hours, and the six subjects covered are business strategy, web design and hosting, customer relationship management, accounts, data storage and social media.

Richard said: “Obviously we can’t cover everything in two hours but I hope it will serve as a solid and inspirational start.

“It’s about getting businesses to think about the key areas very early on and offering them solutions.

“The tools we select are rigorously tested to make it affordable and easy to operate and provide an effective outcome.

“I believe it will save entrepreneurs money, delays and the loss of control that can come with outsourcing.”

The course is aimed at new businesses or those which are launching in the near future.

This may be one-man bands or growing firms with ten to 15 staff.

Richard said: “Brighton is clearly a thriving city and there are new companies opening all the time.

“I want to help them get off the ground.

“It is important that each one is fully prepared and has the right tools to be on the right track from day one.

“My job will be to provide customers with snippets of information and it is then down to them to glue them all together.”

The course costs £275 for the six weeks.
