THE Shore Group - with head offices in Boundary Road, Hove - is recruiting and expanding into new offices in Glasgow.

The group fought against recession to build up a £120 million business and last year it resourced more than 18,000 temporary vacancies in the UK.

It sources and supplies staff within the construction and property sectors across the country.

The company employs more than 70 staff at its locations in London, Hove, Nottingham, Lordswood in Kent and now Glasgow.

Locally in Brighton, the Shore Group is working on many high-profile projects.

These include Brighton Hospital, Brighton Marina, Sussex University, Preston Park flats, Circus Street and the Kind Alfred Leisure Centre.

A spokesman said: “These projects have recently been approved or will continue in 2017 – and hopefully these projects will be awarded to local contractors.

“We expect to see strong demand for labour and skilled tradespeople as well as demand for local sub-contractor, and we are thereby ideally placed to resource these projects with temporary or permanent staff.

“We have invested heavily into new offices and more staff this year, and we are confident that we will continue our double-digit growth in 2017 working with existing and new clients.”

Frank Ashbee founded the Shore Group in 2008 with James Hobden and Lewis Yorke-Johnson and are working at expanding their operation in Scotland.

This will include supporting existing clients working and actively looking for new opportunities, customers and projects.

The company is looking nationwide, including here in Sussex, for new staff for specialist divisions covering merchandising, construction, interiors, mechanical and electrical, security clearance, rail and aviation, telecommunications as well as professional executive staff.

Director Lewis Yorke Johnson said: “Starting the Shore Group in 2008 seemed the perfect moment for a new recruitment agency.

“That was before the worst recession the world has ever seen.

“We weathered the storm and recovered so now we are excited with what we think we can achieve next year and passionately believe that to get the best out of people they must enjoy the process of coming to work.

“The scale of the Shore Group operation and the way it has grown in the past few years has been to create an environment where people want to perform as the rewards on offer are worth working hard for. “

“The directors established the company after working for some of the UK’s largest construction recruitment organisations.

“They have gained extensive experience of working within the industry and have built up a broad range of contacts and forged excellent relationships.

“The plan for the next five years is to expand slowly.”
