Dozens of people gathered to take part in the first Brighton and Hove Autism Acceptance walk.
The event was open to anyone involved with autism, either through having the condition themselves, who are carers or friends, or who simply wanted to learn more about the condition.
The group walked from the Palace Pier in Brighton to the Peace Statue in Hove, where two people gave a talk about the condition.
Core traits of autism include difficulty with social relationships, difficulty with communication and social imagination, repetitive behaviours and strong, focused interests.
An estimated one in every 100 people is on the autism spectrum.
Organisers of the walk said it was a great success, and they are planning to hold another event at Hove Town Hall in April to mark World Autism Awareness Day.
