A new form of speed dating based on a safari is being debuted in Brighton this week.

Hove-based company RightFlirt.com is hosting two of the unusual nights.

Neil-Monticelli Harley-Rüdd, who organises a number of dating events in East Sussex, developed the idea.

He said: “The concept of safari dating originated from seeing the DVD Madagascar 2 with my three-year-old daughter.”

The premise of the night is for male participants to hunt a potential partner.

The men and women will be separated into groups and will be split between three venues.

Mr Harley-Rüdd said: “I want everyone who participates to walk away having had an enjoyable experience – ideally having met their soul mate.”

Romantic success with the evenings is usually differs, Mr Harley-Rüdd said participants will always make new friends.

Two events will be held in Brighton on February 21 and Hove on February 28.
