A charity dinner at Brighton's Grosvenor Casino raised hundreds of pounds for The Martlets Hospice.

Songs from a Michael Buble tribute act entertained volunteers and supporters who enjoyed a three-course meal on Thursday, September 13.

Hove soliticor Simon Alldis said: “The Martlets is a wonderful organisation and uplifting place so my wife and I are keen to support it.”

Mr Alldis is one of The Martlets' 30 champions who are individuals who give regular support to help  provide care to patients at the hospice and in their own homes,

Event co-ordinator Rachel Chitty said: “The event raised £450 which is a great amount as this is the first time that we have had a night like this.”

She hopes the dinners will become a regular event.

As well as raising money through ticket sales, extra cash was raised through the sale of gambling chips with the winners taking home a bottle of Champagne.

Raffle tickets were also sold throughout the night with a hamper up for grabs.
