The co pilot of a plane that crashed in Kent has been named as Shoreham man Mike Chapman.

Mr Chapman was a founding member of Shoreham-based flying school The Real Flying Company.

He was a full-time chief flying instructor and examiner for the club, which he co-owned with wife Kathy.

He died when the Cessna he was co piloting crash landed into a house in a cul de sac in Orpington, Kent, minutes after taking off from Biggin Hill airfield.

He and Surrey pilot Michael Roberts were flying the light aircraft to a Jaguar car event in Pau, in South West France.

Mr Chapman was one of five passengers and crew confirmed dead in the accident.
