Staff at Martlets Hospice, Hove, were delighted to receive a boost to their fundraising from estate agent Mishon Mackay this week.

The estate agents presented a hospice nurse with a cheque for £1,916.87 from their third annual Mishon Mackay’s Golf Day, held in memory of Glenn Mishon.

More than 20 teams took part in the day held at Dyke Road Golf Club in December. One generous golfer donated £1,000 at the event increasing the total raised to £2,916.87.

Elizabeth Baxter, corporate fundraiser at Martlets Hospice, said: “All at Martlets Hospice are so grateful to Mishon Mackay for kindly raising an amazing amount of money for our patients from their annual Golf Day. “The money raised will pay for 13 days of Hospice at Home care, enabling patients to stay at home for as long as possible during their illness and providing support to their families too. We send our heartfelt thanks to all at Mishon Mackay for their hard work in organising such a successful event and to Dyke Golf Club who were so supportive.”

Alex Mackay, at Mishon Mackay, added: “To be honest we are the ones who are privileged to be able to support such a fantastic enterprise.

“Fundraising is not so much about the people who hand over the cheque, it’s about all those who support the event whatever it may be.

“At Mishon Mackay we set our stall out every year to raise thousands of pounds for charities in the local area but without the support of everyone at Mishon Mackay we would never raise as much for such great causes.

“I hope we will be able to continue with our fundraising efforts during 2015 and that the Martlet’s hospice will further benefit from all the effort made by the families and friends of Mishon Mackay.”
