February 5th saw a sold out crowd attend the annual Brighton and Hove Estate Agents Association Gala Dinner at The Grand hotel.

After welcoming everyone to the Black Tie event, Sawyer & Co Director and President for 2016, Chris Sawyer awarded a stunned and surprised Steve Cales, owner of Cales & Co, a lifetime achievement award.

Established in the 1980s, Cales & Co are one of the longest running agencies in the area. Highly regarded within the industry for his ethical approach, it was no surprise that Steve received a standing ovation with his family and friends were there to share the moment.

As promised, there were no long speeches and Chris kept it short when he introduced the work of The Clock Tower Sanctuary. He said: “I was really thrilled that the short film about The Clock Tower Sanctuary’s work got such a great reaction. All of the 350+ people applauded the film which told Will’s story and his experience of being homeless in our city and getting his life back on track with the help of The Clock Tower. I had lots of people telling me they now understood the value of the work of this brilliant charity and the very positive impact its having on our cities young homeless. We hope we have helped to raise the profile and awareness for The Clock Tower as well as much needed funds for them.”

After dinner, Brighton’s own Revolver played to a full dance floor, swiftly followed by DJ Malcolm Scott. It was a great night with a great atmosphere.
