High expectations follow Mac DeMarco around nowadays - and understandably so: the man’s ability and charisma is faultless.

Since his first Brighton gig two years ago, a worldwide worshipping fan base has boomed. With the band barely taking a moment off since, it’s incredible how much enthusiasm is put into each performance.

The tightly packed crowd were treated to a selection of tracks from all three releases. A punchier sound was immediately apparent, with DeMarco’s guitar tone sounding heavier, complementing the trademark analog tone from Andy White’s perfectly raw guitar riffs.

Each show has its own twist. Swirling synths during Chamber Of Reflection eerily filled the room, while vintage-sounding guitar driven tracks, such as I’m A Man saw DeMarco’s varying voices appear. Pierce McGarry’s occasional random quips and White’s weird outbursts also added a hilariously ironic touch.

Still Together marked the beginning of the end, as DeMarco launched himself into the crowd for a traditional snaking crowd-surf. Hoisting himself up the ceiling beams before launching back onto the fans, he slowly made his way back, completing a fifteen minute jam to bring the madness to a steady, adrenaline-fuelled close.
