He’s a gangsta rapper whose CV includes x-rated movies, trial for murder and coaching his son’s high school football team.

He’s sold more than 30 million records and has more than 11 million Twitter followers.

But Snoop Dogg - originally Snoop Doggy Dogg and later Snoop Lion after reinventing himself as a Rastafarian - loves nothing more than seeing the whites of his fans’ eyes at intimate shows.

Tonight he’ll perform in Brighton as part of a short UK tour taking in other club shows Bristol and Leeds.

Snoop will perform a two-hour set “Djing and hosting his hits” at Shoossh Brighton in King’s Road Arches.

UK dates have been thin on the ground since his ban on entering the UK was lifted in March 2010. He’d been refused entry after his entourage had an altercation with border guards following a flight in 2006.

He released Reincarnation in 2013 and is reported to be working on one final album as Snoop Dogg.

Other recent projects include Snoopermarket.com, which sells Snoop apparel and accessories, and writing with Pharell Williams.

A Shoosh spokesman said Snoop was en route to Brighton and that he’d “never seen a rider like it”.
