The Congress Theatre hosted the premiere of Dance ’Til Dawn – dance theatre created by Strictly Come Dancing’s Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace, infused with their signature blend of ballroom styles.

Framed by 1930s Hollywood and featuring murder and revenge, the show created many crowd-pleasing moments of Vincent and Flavia in action, supported by a live band.

Running at less than two hours, Dance ’Til Dawn certainly packed the content in. The show had a cheeky sense of humour and comic moments could definitely have been explored further, paused on and enjoyed.

The balancing act between dialogue and dancing often tipped in favour of the latter but missed the opportunity to tell us more about the characters. Vincent and Flavia were mute dancers in a world of song and film noir dialogue, which produced a strange effect.

The muteness cast the diminutive pair as marionettes, twirling through a frenetic, dreamlike experience – the two worlds needed to blend more cohesively together.

Dance ’Til Dawn was a beautiful production supported by a superb live soundtrack and a talented cast.
