Tony Flood's anecdotes about showbiz and sports stars provided plenty of laughs in his engaging talk, My Life With The Stars.

Former journalist and TV executive Tony enthralled us by spilling the beans about famous personalities he has interviewed. There were stories about Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Joan Collins, George Best, Muhammad Ali, Kenny Dalglish, The Beatles, Britt Ekland, Patsy Kensit and many others.

On a few occasions he referred to his notes too much but for the most part the Eastbourne author fully engaged with his audience. They responded immediately to his well-delivered punchlines and self-deprecating humour interspersed with secrets about Bruce Forsyth, Tommy Cooper, Sinatra and Presley, among others.

Tony, who last week won an Eastbourne Resident of the Year award, was introduced by former West End actor Alan Baker who related some funny anecdotes of his own.

A tour provided by the Friends of the Hippodrome Theatre which took visitors backstage and into the dressing rooms where Charlie Chaplin, Max Miller and Peter Sellers once appeared added to an enjoyable afternoon.
