Coaxing hundreds of people away from the World Cup final seemed ambitious, but the promoters of this event had no need to worry.

The Dome was packed full of hip-hop fans, the air was heavy with the scent of marijuana and sweat, and the atmosphere was tense with excitement.

The Dome is more commonly used for graduations and more sedate arts shows, but the grand surroundings made for a brilliant back-drop to a sea of New Era caps and pints of Red Stripe.

Method Man, of Wu-Tang Clan, and Redman, of Def Squad fame, have been performing together since the early 1990s, and their shows are renowned for being full of energy and old classics.

This show proved that reputation worthy with plenty of old tracks and Wu-Tang specials, and both MCs bounding around the stage for 75 minutes with great enthusiasm.

They may not have released anything for five years but with this duo their combined back catalogue is what the fans really want to hear, and they were rewarded.

The finale included stage dives from speaker stacks, flinging full bottles of water and various garments into the crowd and the applauded news that Blackout! 3 and How High 2 will be released soon.
