The Kooks enjoyed a triumphant homecoming gig at the Brighton Dome.

They were in a happy and buoyant mood from the start and gave a good airing to songs from their new album, Listen, in the early part of the show.

The full theatre bobbed and danced to the band's new slower, but more dance music inspired sound. The new songs probably worked better bunched together too, the boogie and disco styles being quite markedly different to The Kooks' older, rockier songs.

Then when they played She Moves In Her Own Way from their first album Inside In/Inside Out, the gig went up a gear and the crowd got into true party spirit.

There was a lovely solo acoustic Seaside, also from that first album, lead singer Luke Pritchard saying "I wrote this at my first flat in Kemp Town".

Do You Wanna, from their second album, Konk, went down a storm.

When they played Naive for the encore they stopped the song to check everyone was okay after a bit of crowd surfing developed into a fight.

But the show was soon back on - there was no denying the band a successful night and they left the stage in joyful mood.
