It's that time of year again when acts, some wild and wacky, others deep and meaningful and the just thoroughly impressive come to town.

S***faced showtime is whacky. Don't be fooled musical lovers, although it meanders through some well-known West End ditties, including Crazy For You's signature song - I Got Rhythm, that’s not really the point.

One member stumbles on to the stage drunk and tries to perform, to the audience’s amusement.

The show’s charismatic keyboard-playing compère, hands one of the audience members a bucket and requests that as soon as required they must "run at the drunk actor’s face and hold the bucket steady".

The talented cast did well to perform the musical of sorts.

Tonight’s drunk actress played the mother of a posh English girl who had run astray when the family visited New York.

The poor actress fumbled her lines, fell into the crowd, wandered on stage when she felt like it and dropped her pint on the floor.

It was all very funny, but at points you were left questioning how much was the booze and how much was acting.

But despite this, the production company have made a silly and fun night out. For something a bit different, S***faced Showtime hits all the high notes.
