A NEW moneymaking scheme has been revealed.

If you feel yourself on the verge of some sort of breakdown, do the following: wear an out-sized jester outfit, stuff a pillow around the shoulders, paint your face white and burble incoherent sentences on the theme of "happiness".

Charge the public £10 each to sit in front of you while you carry this out.

Start and end your one-hour skit with the same mantra and it will appear to be art.

But art it unfortunately isn't.

Guruguru leaves much to be desired – and could leave audience members feeling somewhat short-changed.

It wasn’t all bad; there were glimmers of hilarity and the character's affectionate forays into the audience proved amusing.

In appearance, the 6ft 10in Guruguru is like some sort of cross between the Hunchback of Notre Dame and last year's Fringe star, Red Bastard.

The main positive to be taken from this is that The Warren is back at the Fringe in a bigger and better setting than last year. Aside from two classy venues, its bar tent is a night out all of its own.

An aberration, perhaps, but Guruguru falls well below the high standards expected of this venue.
