Word in the bar before North London grime pop merchants Skepta and JME took to the stage at Dome Concert Hall was that they'd also be playing a secret after-show party up the road in Fiveways.

Former Streets leader Mike Skinner had arranged for the pair to join him upstairs at The Joker at Preston Circus, as the venue became an outpost of the Dalston club night he runs with Murkage for the evening.

Skinner likes to play at these events, too, but he’d barely warmed up before technical problems cut short his set after three tracks.

The place was still jumping minutes later though as the Tonga crew MC’d over vintage garage, grime house and bass classics. There seemed to be no sign of Skepta and JME so The Argus hot-footed it to the seafront.

At Coalition, Brighton-based rapper Ocean "Spitz" Wisdom stole the show with a fiery set and nearly blew off the roof when he dropped his underground banger, Walkin.

Despite being the end of the festival, there was still time for a few guitars as Heat, the shoegaze-loving New Yorkers, took over Komedia Studio Bar.

While over the road at Patterns – the new club rising from the ashes of Audio – the Resident Advisor-programmed The Late Escape saw Ruff Disco head honcho DJ Nature play a soulful set before Panorama Bar resident Tumo turned up the heat with hard techno and pumping house.
