The Magic of Motown took the audience back in time to celebrate the label’s legendary artists.

Backed by a four-piece band, the male and female singers and dancers showcased Motown’s musicianship and iconic smooth moves.

The energetic set included the hits Signed Sealed Delivered I’m Yours, My Guy, I Heard It Through The Grapevine, Endless Love, All Night Long, Heatwave, Get Ready, My Girl, I Want You Back, I’ll Be There and Dancing In The Street.

Vocals were soulful and powerful and the harmonies were strong – especially during Under The Boardwalk, sung beautifully in four-part harmony.

The talented cast paid homage to Motown greats The Temptations, The Supremes, The Four Tops, The Isley Brothers, Marvin Gaye and Lionel Richie.

The crowd cheered, sang along and bopped in their seats throughout, and were mixed in age showing how Motown has passed through the generations.

The Jackson Five medley was a highlight, with infectious enthusiasm and exciting choreography.

Stevie Wonder being led off stage as if he was blind was a slightly odd moment and allowed the production to fall into parody. That said, this was a highly enjoyable night of nostalgia and fantastic music that has stood the test time.
