Eardrum-shattering punk penetrated through the walls as the Danish outfit carved their way into the brains of helpless Brightonians.
A Danish flag sat proudly at the back of the stage as frontman Mikkel Sikjær hazily introduced the four-piece.
The most recent product of a Danish surge in the UK, Yung find themselves mid-way through their second European tour, coming off the back of recently released debut LP, A Youthful Dream.
The group played tirelessly through their set. The slowed tempo during Uncombed Hair’s melodic chorus had the crowd growling, although was followed by an underwhelming reaction to a new track.
Drummer Frederik Veile’s incredible tightness provided searing energy for the rest of the band to build on. The catchy guitar riff during Pills lit the crowd up, before Sikjær paused to promise some “classics”.
Ear-piercing feedback exploded around the room as Sikjær abandoned his guitar. Penultimate song Nobody Cares was huge and dynamic, performed in an equally vulgar manner, while final track, God, melted into a sea of noise.
Almost anything on stage was a potential instrument for each member to vent their rage as the night drew to an aggressive close.
Will my skull ever stop vibrating?
