For one night only, three successful bands of the 1970s - The Stylistics, The Real Thing and Heatwave - came together for a nostalgic musical celebration.

After support act Soul Survivor’s DJ Paddy Shevlin, got the crowd going, Heatwave opened the show with a bang and strong vocals; their classic disco hits, including Boogie Wonderland and Mind Blowing Decisions got the packed out audience dancing, and Always And Forever had them singing and swaying along.

British soul group The Real Thing followed and dazzled with crowd favourites You To Me Are Everything and Can’t Get By Without You. Rap segments gave their hits a modern twist and were very well received. The audience participated excitedly in singalongs, upping the party atmosphere.

Philadelphia-based soul group The Stylistics finished the show. A class act, their performance included slick choreography, tight harmonies, a stunningly smooth falsetto and an abundance of charm. Enjoying the best reception of the night, they pleased the crowd with classic hits including You Make Me Feel Brand New, Can’t Give You Anything (But My Love), Stop, Look, Listen (To Your Heart) and I’m Stone In Love With You.

Modern music, take note; this is how it’s done.
