Pam Ann Touch Trolley Run to Galley

***

Theatre Royal, New Road, Brighton, June 11

WELCOME to the in-flight entertainment of flight hostess Pam Ann as she takes you on a tour of the world’s airlines.

The Australian comedienne Caroline Reid has built up a cult following with her impersonations and smutty insights into flight crews and their passengers.

Nothing is off limits – from racial and sexual stereotyping to the most basic in-your-face smut.

The fact that many of the jokes were in extremely poor taste and the typecasting was basic at best did nothing to dampen the enthusiasm of the audience which devoured everything and anything she chose to serve up.

It is testament to Reid’s enduring popularity that she is now on her 20th anniversary tour as the outrageous and sexually provocative trolley dolly who knows no limits. The place was packed.

Members of the audience are enlisted for some gentle put downs before being given seriously wonky wigs to dance along to the sounds of Spice Girls.

The bad taste hit its heights with an extremely crude take-off of the Great British Bake Off.

A modern-day gay icon, Caroline is still an acquired taste and relies on her own dedicated fanbase to fill the house.

A hit for those with strong stomachs and a taste for the politically incorrect.
