Burning The Clocks
Sets off from New Road to Madeira Drive, Monday, December 21, 6.30pm, free, www.samesky.co.uk
SAME Sky’s annual celebration of the shortest day of the year combines a candlelit parade with a stunning seafront firework display.
More than 1,500 paradegoers will set off from New Road, and the best place to see them is along the route, which runs along North Street, Ship Street, East Street, and King’s Road before heading into Madeira Drive.
The fireshow will begin at 7.15pm.
Anyone who wants to join in the parade should buy a £22 lantern kit from The Wood Store in Lewes Road or Elder Place, Brighton; The Book Nook in First Avenue, Hove; or the Royal Pavilion shop. As well as the materials for two lanterns, the kits include parade passes and access to the viewing area on Madeira Drive to watch the event climax.
