A BURGER joint is launching a special menu to raise money for Shoreham Dogs Trust.

Meatliquor, in York Place, Brighton, will run a hot dog menu throughout March and April to raise much-needed cash for the animal charity.

Among the hot dogs available will be The Littlest Hobo, which is made from a traditional beechwood smoked beef wiener, chargrilled and loaded with hobo beer cheese sauce.

It is finished with crispy and raw onions and a squirt of ketchup.

One pound from each hot dog sale will be donated to the Shoreham Dogs Trust.

There is also a special dog-themed cocktail list called In The Dog House.

Among the drinks available are St Bernard, which is a blend of brandy served in a barrel with Luxardo cherry Sangue Morlacco, fresh lemon juice, a hint of cane sugar and a splash of apple juice.

Again £1 from each drink will go to Shoreham Dogs Trust.

Others drinks include the Lassi Lassie which is a mix of vodka, Greek yoghurt, fresh raspberry and rhubarb topped with cream.

Then there is the Pink Chihuahua which is tequila shaken with fresh lime juice, grenadine, orgeat and egg white served straight up.

Meatliquor was founded six years ago and there are now ten restaurants across the UK, including in Brighton.

Each one of its restaurants is donating proceeds to a local animal centre, with Shoreham Dogs Trust the chosen charity for the York Place outlet.

Shoreham Dogs Trust is one of Sussex’s biggest and busiest centres.

There are 52 kennels at the Brighton Road centre which are nearly always full.

If you want to rehome a dog then visit the centre and speak to one of their experts.

It is open six days a week and closed on Tuesdays.

Opening times are midday to 4pm and midday to 7.30pm on a Wednesday.

The centre is also looking for volunteers to help with the day-to-day running.

Among the dogs currently looking for a new home include pretty labrador cross Sooty, clumsy yet loveable saluki Domino and nervous Jack Russell terrier Colin.
