Saturday Main Stage Headliner: Jamie Cullum 9.30pm

With his appeal crossing over to pop audiences singer-songwriter and pianist Jamie Cullum is arguably the UK’s biggest jazz star in the last ten years.

Cullum gained public attention with his first television appearance on Parkinson back in 2003, following which he signed a reputed £1 million deal to Universal.

Latest album Momentum, was released last year.

Highlight: Laura Mvula 5.45pm Double Mobo Award–winner Laura Mvula saw her debut album Sing To The Moon shortlisted for the Mercury Music Prize last year.

Her Love Supreme Jazz Festival appearance comes ahead of the release of an orchestral version of the album, recorded with the Metropole Orchestra.

The guitarist’s CV features stints with Miles Davies, Charles Mingus, Herbie Hancock , Pat Metheny and Dave Liebman. Last year he released Uberjam Deux, the follow–up to his 2002 album on Verve Records.

Highlight: Dave Holland’s Prism 8.15pm GRAMMY Award–winning bassist Dave Holland can boast of working with Miles Davis on his classic Bitches Brew album, as well as sessions with Herbie Hancock, John McLaughlin, Pat Metheny and Chick Corea. This all–star quartet also features guitarist Kevin Eubanks, keyboard–player Craig Taborn and drummer Eric Harland.

Later in 2014 sees the release of their eighth album You’re Welcome – their first studio release in ten years aside from collaborations with sports brand Nike and Damon Albarn’s Gorillaz.

Highlight: Soul II Soul 4.45pm JAZZIE B’s Soul II Soul grew from a London sound system to a chart–topping band in 1989.

Now the outfit has reunited with vocalist Caron Wheeler to mark the 25th anniversary of their debut album Club Classics Volume 1.

The cat with the hat Gregory Porter, who played last year’s inaugural Love Supreme, is no stranger to jazz festival crowds – and it has clearly paid off with the growing word–of–mouth success of his third album Liquid Sky.

His latest album Hooray For Love was released in April, mixing three original songs with standards including You Make Me Feel So Young and The Way You Look Tonight.
