ELECTRO rock band Enter Shikari delighted hundreds of young fans when they turned out for an album signing.

The four-piece band appeared at the Brighton branch of HMV in Churchill Square yesterday to sign copies of their latest record The Mindsweep.

Around 250 adoring fans queued up to catch a glimpse of the band and get a signed copy of the group’s fourth album.

Ziggy Jamieson-Franks, 17, of Moulsecoomb, said: “I’m very excited to meet them. They were my first gig and I finally get to meet them in person which is incredible.”

Molly Liddicott, 17, of Preston Park, said: “It’s weird to finally meet them, I don’t really know what to say.

“We brought some face masks with us as a conversation starter to break the ice.

“I’ve seen them five times, once at the Concorde 2 which was amazing.”

Adam Hall, 17, of Haywards Heath, said: “I saw them at the Brighton Centre in 2008 and that was probably one of the best gigs I have ever been to.”

Ben George, 26, of Worthing, said: “I’ve been a fan of them for years.

“A lot of my friends aren’t really into them, hence I’m here on my own.”

It has been almost three years since their last record, A Flash Of Colour, hit the shelves.

The Mindsweep was produced by long-time producer Dan Weller at Chapel Studios in Lincolnshire and mixed by Jeremy Wheatley, who has previously worked with Dizzee Rascal, Sugababes and Bon Jovi among others.

Their Brighton appearance took place ahead of an extensive European tour in spring.

Frontman Rou Reynolds said of the new album: “We pushed ourselves vocally with some of the rawest, angriest vocals we’ve ever done as well as some of the most dulcet and delicate.

“It’s even more diverse than normal as we’ve built more confidence and fearlessness to widen our influences further.”
