The legendary Studio 2 at Abbey Road is being recreated as the stage set for a new national tour celebrating Liverpool’s biggest exports, which has already sold out the Royal Albert Hall.

And the producers have just released a new trailer - below - to tell more of the story.

As already revealed in The Guide, The Sessions are inspired by Here, There And Everywhere, the memoirs of former Abbey Road sound engineer Geoff Emerick who acts as creative consultant on the tour, The Sessions will see 45 people recreate The Beatles’ classic recordings as authentically as possible.

Rather than a Bootleg Beatles-style tribute show (who are at the Brighton Centre on Friday, December 18), The Sessions features seven vocalists to capture John, Paul, George and Ringo’s vocal harmonies, as well as seven musicians using rare, vintage and historically accurate instruments.

And a 21-piece orchestra will be supported by eight technicians to help recreate the sounds which changed music on albums including Revolver, Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, The White Album and The Beatles’ final collaboration which trademarked the famous studio.

Rather than recreate the albums in full, each milestone on The Beatles’ journey will be reworked as a suite to drive the story of the Fab Four’s sonic explorations.

The audience will sit on three sides of a replica of the studios made by entertainment architects Stufish, who have designed shows for The Rolling Stones, U2 and AC/DC.

Executive producer of the show, Stig Edgren, who worked on the closing ceremony at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, and is currently working with Pope Francis on his visit to the United Nations General Assembly, says: “The Sessions will be a musical documentary giving audiences an honest, respectful and accurate recreation of how musical history was made.”

“An incredible amount of research has gone into the show,” adds producer Jef Hanlon, who has come out of retirement to work on the project.

“All instrumentation, arrangements and vocals will be performed identically to the original recordings. This show does not seek to be a look-a-like show, but rather a sound-a-like, with the singers being the best Beatles imitators in the world.”

The show will be directed by former ballet dancer turned director and choreographer Kim Gavin, whose credits including the Concert For Diana 2007, the Invictus opening ceremony and Take That’s stadium tour.

The Sessions, is at Brighton Centre, King’s Road, on Wednesday, April 6. Starts 8pm, tickets from £40. Call 08448 471515.
