The Bootleg Beatles
Brighton Centre, King’s Road, Friday, December 18, 7.30pm, £28, 08448 471515
WHEN The Beatles played together for the last time on the roof of their Apple headquarters in Savile Row, they had been off the road for more than three years.
It meant Beatles fans never got to see their heroes perform anything from St Pepper onwards live in their home towns.
The decision to focus on studio work meant the band could explore brand new territory, but it has been left to skilful tribute bands like The Bootleg Beatles to translate it into a live setting.
And anyone who has seen this long-running tribute live will know they put everything into it – telling the band’s story from their Cavern beginnings to that fateful final rooftop show in almost forensic detail.
