NICOLE Schneit took her pseudonym from the title of a Guided By Voices song, which should be enough for any right-thinking person to make some further investigation.
The New Yorker released her debut album Dungeon Dots in 2010, which showcased a perfect pop sensibility allied with confessional lyrics delivered in an unaffected smoky voice and an upbeat acoustic style.
Now she has followed it up with Parting Glances, which features contributions from members of Woods, Crystal Stilts, Ava Luna and Hospitality, plus two vocals by Jana Hunter of Lower Dens.
Support from Brighton’s own Penelope Isles and Will Rene.
