Peter King first appeared at London's jazz mecca Ronnie Scott's on its opening night - at the tender age of 19. In the same year, he received the Melody Maker New Star award.
The Surrey-born saxophonist taught himself the clarinet when he was 15 before switching to the alto saxophone and went on to play alongside jazz greats from Ray Charles to Maynard Ferguson.
The Peter King Quartet features Steve Melling on piano, Geoff Gascoyne on bass and Martin Drew on drums.
- Starts 8pm, tickets £14/£12. Call 01273 647100.
