Otherwise known as the frontman of indie punk rockers Carter USM, Jim Bob has been performing solo since the band split in 1997, playing both solo material and Carter hits. After a series of successful reunion shows last year, Carter are back and playing gigs again, but Jim Bob continues to perform solo shows.

Over their ten year career, Carter – aka Jim Bob and fellow guitarist Fruitbat – developed from their early incarnation as a pair of punks with tape-recorded backing tracks and a fine line in lyrical wordplay to a fully-fledged six piece band.

Along the way they released seven albums, including 1992 – The Love Album, which went to number one.

Jim Bob has become an author as well as a solo musician, penning an autobiography, Goodnight Jim Bob, as well as a novella, Word Count. An as-yet untitled novel is due for publication in 2010.

His latest release, Goffum, which came out earlier this year, is described as “another concept album” about a city in the grip of crime and deserted by its superheroes.

He is supported on this second leg of the album tour by Brighton singer-songwriter Chris T-T on the piano and Tim Ten Yen opening as special guest.
