Stand Up And Slam
Komedia, Gardner Street, Brighton, Wednesday, December 16, 8pm, £8/£5, 0845 2938480
HAVING already appeared in London, Canterbury and at the Edinburgh Fringe, this new spoken word event is making its Brighton debut.
Unlike regular Brighton favourite Hammer And Tongue, which pits poets against MCs, this is a battle between comedians and slam poets – each pushing the other to win over the audience.
Comedian Rich Wilson leads a team of three comics, who are pitted against Oli Forsyth’s three poets.
Past battle veterans include Marcel Lucont, Felicity Ward, Celia Pacquola, Daniel Simonsen, Mark Grist, Tim Clare, Amy McAllister, Charlie Dupre and Richard Marsh.
The show has been devised, produced and directed by Lucy Danser, who last visited Brighton Fringe with her play Rachael’s Cafe.
