Hetty Feather
Chichester Festival Theatre, Oaklands Park, Chichester, Wednesday, January 27, to Sunday, January 31, various times, from £10, 01243 781312
HAVING made her name with the unflinching portraits of modern life for young orphan Tracy Beaker, Jacqueline Wilson looked into the life of a Victorian foundling child for arguably her second most popular recurring character.
Abandoned at London’s Foundling Hospital, Hetty Feather dreams of escaping the care of Matron Stinking Bottomly and running away with Tanglefield’s Travelling Circus.
At the same time she is searching for her own family and a place of her own.
This touring theatre show is penned by Emma Reeves, the same adaptor behind the BBC TV series The Story Of Tracy Beaker, and directed by Olivier Award-winning Sally Cookson.
