Forget the recession, terrorism or Celebrity Big Brother, the main subject for this edition of The Treason Show was only ever going to be the snow.

From the moment the three-handed cast came on singing Walking In A Brighton Wonderland, it was obvious that the freezing weather would be a hot topic.

TTS, Brighton’s renowned all-singing, all-silly satirical revue, is now in its tenth year and hasn’t lasted so long by being afraid to hit an easy target where it hurts.

So the council got a kicking and the buses were lambasted for their poor performance in the snow during the hilarious When I Fall In Hove (It Will Be The Weather).

And the news of Northern Irish MP Iris Robinson’s affair with a teenager was sent up mercilessly with a twist on, of course, Simon and Garfunkel’s Mrs Robinson.

Other highlights included Status Quo being given an New Year honour made up of more letters than they know chords and Madonna and Angelina Jolie arguing over who was going to adopt the most deprived Haitian baby.

Even when TTS misfired, as it did during a couple of cringeworthy chav impressions, the skill and enthusiasm of the cast members kept things rolling along rapidly.
