This is Polar Bear, a locomotive which is 110 years old. It featured on the Groudle Glen railway on the Isle of Man.
Because the railway served a zoo, the engines were given animal names. Polar Bear came to Amberley Museum in West Sussex many years ago but needed extensive restoration to keep going.
At one time the work seemed to be impossibly expensive but Amberley Museum rail group raised large sums of money for it to be restored with expert attention needed for the boiler.
It will make an appearance at the museum on Sunday, June 14 when TV newsreader Nicholas Owen, a rail enthusiast, will be there.
A sister locomotive called Sea Lion still runs in the Isle of Man.
