A Brighton schoolgirl will feature in the Marks & Spencer Christmas advert being shown for the first time tonight.
Keen dancer Amelie Hurley will be watching Coronation Street to try to catch a glimpse of herself in the advert breaks.
The eight-year-old was one of six children chosen to star in the seasonal campaign from more than 800 children who auditioned.
The dancer, who attends Brighton dance schools Open Space and Streetfunk, plays a jack in the box in the advert.
Her mother, Jean, said: “She had a brilliant time. She had two days of rehearsals and spent the whole time dancing, including on the way home on the platforms of the train stations, she just didn’t stop.”
The Queen’s Park Primary School pupil, who has been dancing since she was three, is also the under-12s International Dance Teachers Association south-east freestyle dance champion.
It is the first celebrity-free TV advert for Marks & Spencer and has been directed by Jake Nava, who also directed Beyonce’s Single Ladies music video.
