Married couple in suspected suicide pact named

The husband and wife found dead by police just before noon on Thursday, November 8  in a house in Whyke Marsh, Chichester, have been named by Sussex Police.

Kris Rivers, 44, and Alphira Rivers, 27 has recently moved to the area.

The deaths are not being treated as suspicious.

Postmortems were held today (Monday, November 12) but further toxicology tests are required before causes of death can be established.

So sad. If you read the tabloids then the speculation is that this was down to money problems, unemployment, depression, recent car repossession, etc, based on interviews with friends and neighbours. We are seeing more and more of this sort of thing - people ending up in this state of helplessness where they feel all hope is gone and that there is no way out. The divide between the haves and havenots continues to grow, and we still send billions and billions to the thirld world while people's lives here are falling apart.
