Five people are to be cared for by the Red Cross tonight after a fire ripped through their homes.
Their four-storey home in Ditchling Rise, Brighton, was filled with smoke by a fire which took hold at about 4.55pm.
It is not thought anyone was injured but the householders were unable to return to their homes.
Firefighters from Preston Circus called on Hove Fire Station for support during the operation.
The fire was out by 5.25pm.
