A blue plaque has been unveiled to mark the former home of legendary Welsh comedienne Gladys Morgan.
The performer, who died in 1983 aged 85, lived in Salisbury Road, Worthing, for a quarter of a century.
Friends, family, local dignitaries and comedian and music hall expert Roy Hudd, gathered for the unveiling at her former residence, which is now owned by her daughter, Joan Laurie.
Born in Swansea in 1898, the performer didn’t achieve fame until 1950, when she appeared on a number of prime-time radio shows.
She also toured the country’s music halls and theatres, where she regularly topped the bill.
In 1958 she relocated to Worthing, where she lived until her death in 1983.
Geoff Bowden, from the British Music Hall Society, said: “Gladys was a comedienne of the old school.
"She had an expressive face with a toothless smile and was famous for her huge cackle of a laugh.”
