Worthing station has reopened after a person had earlier been hit by a train.
Lines were closed in both directions following the incident which involved the 8.33 Southampton to Brighton train.
But a Southern spokesman announced the station had now reopened.
Passengers are still likely to suffer delays of up to 40 minutes and tickets are still being accepted on local buses.
Stagecoach bus route 700 is accepting Southern tickets between Brighton and Chichester and Brighton and Hove buses are accepting Southern tickets between Brighton and Shoreham.
A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said: “BTP officers were called to Worthing rail station on Monday, 24 December following a report of a man being struck by a train.
“Officers from BTP and Sussex Police attended the incident, which was reported to police at 9.57am and is currently being treated as non-suspicious.
“Medics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service also attended and the man is currently receiving medical attention at a nearby hospital.”
