Funeral change for journalist and political activist Peter Avis

The funeral of journalist and political activist Peter Avis has been moved so that more people can attend.

The funeral will be at the south chapel of Woodvale crematorium in Brighton on Friday, January 11 at 12.15pm.

Mr Avis was found dead at his home in the city earlier this month. He was 83.

He had organised the Great Dieppe trip since 1978, taking a large party of Communists and Socialists from Brighton to the Normandy resort.

A Communist, he had forged close links with the party in Dieppe where they ruled for many years in alliance with the Socialists.
